Stone Climbing Announces New Ground-Up Build in Jacksonville

The cat (think jaguar) is out of the bag. Stone is bringing love and adventure to Jacksonville in the form of a premier, modern climbing facility. The 16,000-square-foot plus facility will open in Spring 2025 and include 50-foot lead walls, a ton of bouldering, a Moonboard and Tension 2, a well-equipped fitness center, and a recovery zone with a sauna and cold bath. It will be a beautiful space, designed to invoke curiosity and community.

Stone Climbing exists for our community to thrive on and beyond our walls.

Stone Member and local architect Connor Dowling of Open City Architecture designed the building. Keeping with the clean aesthetic of our original location in Saint Augustine, we will be incorporating artwork, natural light, and Vertical Solutions walls in the design.

The Florida market is seeing a rapid expansion of big gyms moving in from out of state. Our goal is to keep climbing local in Northeast Florida. We have such a strong climbing community here that deserves a modern facility built by folks who care about them. This space has so much love and thoughtfulness going into it, it will be special.

Our new location will be near the Town Center and UNF in Southeast Jacksonville.

See y’all in the spring!
